AVBOB Claim Options
As you may already know, there are two options when you claim. You can either take the money only or let AVBOB help you arrange the funeral. Both options have benefits. We will try and explain the basic here. We strongly suggest you speak to them to discuss your needs. This section is to outline the basics of both options.
Cash & Benefits
The first option is to let them arrange the funeral for you. This assistance is a fantastic service. You still get your cash payout. The advantage here is you can use your payout to pay for services from one provider. Once you settle the bill, you get the money that remains. When you ask them to arrange the burial, you get a lot of free benefits. For example, you get a free basic funeral up to *R11 000. This benefit is available to everybody on the policy. This benefit is automatic when you take out a policy. You make this decision at claim stages.
Another advantage of this service is you do not have to struggle to find all the services needed. They can do just about everything for you. We strongly suggest you look at this option. It is beneficial if you have never arranged a burial. They will guide you through the entire process.
Cash Only
This option is excellent if you like to shop around for services. The advantage here is you can use multiple providers to arrange the burial. For example, you can buy the casket one place and the tombstone at another. This option can be useful if you have some experience. If you decide on this option, you will not get all the free benefits offered by AVBOB. It turns the policy into a standard cash only policy. It does not matter what option you decide on now. You have to choose the option that works best for your needs. There are advantages of both options. Make sure you take the option that works best for you.
